Re-thinking Multiculturalism through Music

The project Transcultural Music – Rethinking Multiculturalism through Music offers the general public a new approach to key current issues such as tolerance, social integration and the importance of culture in society.

Workshop at Uni Erfurt

We are pleased to invite you to a special event that will take place on June 20, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the University of Erfurt campus, in rooms AMG 0007 and AMG 0012.

Admission is free and open to the public of all ages.

The event will include a lecture and a workshop held in English and German.

We will explore important questions that are central to our society today:

  • How can music become a tool for social inclusion?

  • In what ways can music contribute to a more tolerant and conscious society?

In addition to these core topics, there will be a brief introduction to Brazilian culture and music.

Our guests include:

  • Igor Seiji Moriya, guitarist and composer

  • Vitor da Trindade, percussionist and researcher

  • Prof. Dr. Tiago de Oliveira Pinto, musicologist

Following the lecture, we invite everyone to participate in a hands-on workshop, where attendees will have the opportunity to learn to play selected instruments and engage in a musical experience together.

We look forward to welcoming you to this enriching cultural and educational event!
